I was born in 1952 in Helsinki, Finland, but my roots are in Southern Ostrobothnia, Finland. I pursued art already while I was in school but did not become serious about it until I became a member of the Soukka Art Association in 2004. I became a member of the board in 2005 and acted as the president from 2007 to 2008. I am also a member of the Finnish Exlibris Aboensis Society and have been a member of Espoo Art since 2011.
My deeper involvement with art began in 2007 when I started the Basic Art course at the Espoo Adult Education Centre. The curriculum made it possible for me to receive instruction from several professional artists. The three-year course has now ended, and the exhibition for my diploma work has also been held.
I have supplemented my studies with several courses. Moments of inspiration have been experienced at a Helsinki University summer course in Suomenlinna, at courses held by the Soukka Art Association as well as at optional courses by the Espoo Adult Education Centre. Teachers have included Pentti Saksala, Dan Palmgren, Ulla Suonio, Minna Kattelus, Riikka Mäkikoskela, Metta Savolainen, Ville Mäkikoskela, Arja Karjalainen, Seija Jouhki, Jenni Haili, Tapani Kiippa, Matti Uusikylä etc.
During the course of my career, works have also appeared in various exhibitions.
